I am hopeful that our hikes shared on this blog can be a reference to help you get out on a trail. No need for you to drive and stop at the first trailhead- We have done the work for you and it's all here on this blog.
Thanks for Stopping By
Our first hike in Northern California as a family was a disaster. Ignorant of the trails in Tahoe, we drove up the 50 and stopped at the first trailhead with a parking lot. This happened to be Mt. Ralston, a 9,235ft peak with an almost 3,000ft elevation change from start to summit. Four months pregnant and hiking with our 3-year old, who was on his own two feet, we had a tearful breakdown on a steep and narrow switchback of the trail. Needless to say, we turned around and went home as quickly as we could drag our preschooler off the mountain.
